CHILDREN'S CHORUS AUDITIONS
The Springfield Children’s Chorus will hold auditions for new members for
the 2009-2010 chorus year on Tuesday, September 1 and again on Tuesday,
September 8, 2009.
Young singers
entering grades 4 through 8 may audition for the chorus. Please encourage
any of your students who love to sing to attend the audition. Auditioning
students must be able to sing independently on pitch, but they do not need
to have a solo voice. Sight-reading ability (usually acquired through
instrumental lessons) is helpful but not necessary. Sight-reading skills
will be taught at rehearsals throughout the chorus year.
The Springfield Children’s Chorus is a wonderful opportunity for talented
young singers to experience the joy of singing in an outstanding choral
organization. Children who join the chorus will grow in musical
understanding, will be given excellent vocal training, will gain poise
through performance and will make wonderful new friends who share common
musical interests!
